Hearing on the state while asleep
If two or more of the following symptoms are recognized, the airway may be obstructed during asleep.
· Feeling of suffocation and gasping during sleep
· Repeated awakening
· The lack of exhilaration upon waking up
· Fatigue during the daytime
· Lack of concentration
* While obesity and SAS are mutually related, many SAS patients without obesity (i.e., BMI is less than 25) exist in Asian countries.
Inspection of nasal cavity
Check for the nasal form, presence of polyps, and of runny nose to determine if Nastent can be used.
If two or more of the following symptoms are recognized, the airway can be obstructed while asleep:
1) Runny nose
2) Blocked nose
A blocked nose may disable use of Nastent.
3) Inflammation or bleeding
Check for inflammation or bleeding inside the nasal cavity.
If any of the above symptoms are recognized, determine if the patient is capable of using Nastent.
